Autism Ontario and Trenton Military Family Resource Centre are excited to bring you: Children's Friendship Training & Theatre Activities Week!!


This successful program is designed for children in elementary school, ages 8-12, who are having difficulty making and/or keeping friends. Each day children will learn a new skill, practice with other group members through fun games & theatre-based activities, receive coaching on their play skills, and try out their newly learned skills with coaches and other group members.


**Registering does not gurantee your admittance into the program.**

There will be a Registration Process consisting of a Phone Screen & In Person Interview to determine the fit for the program. If the program is the right fit you will be notified prior to the first night to make arrangements to attend.

Registration is on a First-Come, First-Served Basis. Interviews will be conducted in sequence of registration.

Space is limited to 10 children with ASD to ensure effective program administration.

Cost: $50.00 (usualy cost for Children's Friendship Training is $250.00)
*If the program is the right fit the fee will be payable to Trenton MFRC on the first day.

Pre-requisites:

  • Must be between the ages of 8-12 years old
  • Must have a Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Must have verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to participate in a group setting
  • Want to make and keep friends

Your child will learn:

  • Conversational Skillss
  • How to make a good first impression
  • How to “play detective” to find common interests
  • How to join a group of kids at play
  • How to handle rejection, teasing and bullying
  • How to be a good host on a play date
  • How to be a good winner
  • How to be a good sport
  • How to show respect to adult supervisors
