Event Description

This season, it’s easy for children (recommended ages 8-12) to build winter wreaths at home with our complete wreath-making kit. Register for our adapted workshop which will give children and their guardians everything they need to work together to design holiday wreaths with plants from UBC Botanical Garden.

How Does It Work? Click, Collect and Create

Step #1: Click While registering for this event you will pick a time between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Saturday December 5th to come to the Garden to pick up your wreath making kit. Kits include all necessary supplies such as the wire frame, plant material and some holiday décor.

Step #2: Collect On December 5th, you will come to the garden for your chosen pick up time and a garden staff or volunteer will place your kit into the trunk of your car, allowing for a contactless pick up.

Step #3: Create Registration includes an instructional video on how to build your wreath which also incorporates some educational content on the plants included in your kits. You can create your wreath using this video at any time after kit pick up or join us to build wreaths together on Sunday Dec. 6th over Zoom.

Important COVID Information: While purchasing your ticket, you will specify a scheduled drive-thru pick-up time on Saturday Dec 5th where COVID-19 procedures will be followed. At your drive-thru pick-up time, you will be instructed to open your trunk internally and wreath supplies will be placed in the trunk, the truck will be closed and you will be able to depart. If you cannot open the trunks internally, you will open your trunk, return to the car and then our friendly team will place the supplies in your trunk.

Cancellation Policies: A $5.00 processing fee per attendee is charged if cancellation notice is less than 7 days prior to your pickup. There is no fee for transferring the registration to another person. Cancellations can be made online or by contacting garden.programs@ubc.ca. In the event that UBC Botanical Garden cancels a workshop, we will offer the option of transferring to another program or obtaining a full refund.
