Description

H.H Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche

The “First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma” is celebrated on Chokur Duchen. For the first seven weeks after his Enlightenment, Buddha did not teach. Encouraged by Indra & Brahma, he then gave the first teachings at Sarnath on the Four Noble Truths.

His Holiness has kindly agreed to lead this special Chokur Duchen Tsok.

His Holiness Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche was born in Tashi Yangtse, Bhutan. He was recognized by the 16th Karmapa. At a very young age, he was taken under the guidance of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. He has received countless profound teachings & empowerments from all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. In 1984, he established the Lhodrak Karchu monastery in Bhutan. He is the lineage holder of the Jangter tradition within the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. His Holiness has spent most of his time in retreat or engaging in spiritual practice.
