Event description

Description

Enjoy an evening of high-energy country music with some of Canada's best rising stars in the comfort of the Sussex SummerFEST big top.

Chris Buck Band - Chris Buck Band is ALL IN. From auspicious beginnings to becoming a top charting country artist, this Canadian Country band is ‘boots on; let’s do it’, and they do it well. Upbeat, positive, and one of the fastest rising country music artists in Canada, Chris shines boldly through his songs, from the upbeat anthem “Giddy Up” to the balladry of the Billboard top 20 radio smash “That’s When You Know”, and the perfect mix of both, his latest get-stuck-on-repeat single “Spin On It”.

In 2017 Chris Buck burst onto the Canadian Country scene with his self-titled debut album, and the Top 20 hit “That’s When You Know”. The quintessential love song garnered more than 2.8 million streams and over 80 playlist adds on Spotify, a CCMA nomination for Video of the Year, 6 months of “Top 10 Most Wanted” on SiriusXM, and solidified the the band winning Album of the Year at the British Columbia Country Music Awards, among many other accolades. In 2018, Chris Buck Band is back with new music leading off a busy touring season across Canada, and an album release coming in the fall.

Though he played music from a young age, Chris Buck was inspired to go “ALL IN” and pursue a serious career in music after the death of a young musician friend whom he had mentored. For years the band rode the asphalt, growing a grassroots following before signing with Royalty Records / Sony Music Canada in 2016. Chris Buck Band’s self-titled 2017 debut on the label features 4x top 40 country radio hits, “Leave Your Light On”, “Giddy Up”, “Sun Sets Down” and “That’s When You Know” ft Kira Isabella. Along with Chris Buck, the group’s current line-up consists of guitarist Ryan Stead, bassist Matt Generaux and drummer Taylor Allum.

The Abrams - It’s hard for John and James Abrams to recall a time in their young lives where they weren’t creating and playing music together. As fourth-generation musicians, The Abrams have already taken the “family business” to a whole new level, with their recent signing to Warner Music Canada and release of their major label debut self-titled album. Still only in their mid-twenties, they have been touring their distinct Country sound worldwide for over sixteen years, have been featured on CMT, NBC, FOX, Cosmopolitan NPR, BBC and CBC, and are among the youngest performers to ever play the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Their major label debut single last year, “Fine,” charted in the top 40 on Country radio.

The Montgomery Street Band - The Montgomery Street Band is a four piece string band. New Brunswick-born Patrick Gushue (mandolin/fiddle), Liam Keith-Jacques (guitar/dobro), Scott Michaud (banjo/guitar), and Calum Jackson (Mariachi bass/guitar) have dedicated themselves to carrying on the folk music traditions of the Maritimes. Along with masterful instrumentation, the band mates also take turns leading four- part vocal harmonies. These avid street performers boast an extensive catalogue of old time music while also incorporating the blazing tempos and dynamic energy of a full fledged jam band.
