This holiday season travel back in time to rural, 19th century New Brunswick and experience a Victorian Era Christmas in one of Kings Landing’s historic homes. On December 3, 10 and 17, the Perley, Ingraham, Morehouse and Donaldson homes will be hosting traditional Christmas dinners. You’re invited to take part! Each home will be in full festive décor inspired by a Victorian Christmas carol.
While you enjoy the company of family and friends, the family hosts will be there to share a variety of 19th century Christmas traditions with you. Christmas dinner in one of the historic homes is sure to make the holiday’s history come alive for you.
Itinerary:
December 3, 10 & 17
Each home will be in full festive décor inspired by a Victorian Christmas carol:
- Perley House: “The Holly and the Ivy” (up to 8 guests): $1,200
- Ingraham House: “In the Bleak Midwinter” (up to 8 guests): $1,200
- Morehouse Farm: “Good Christian Men Rejoice” (up to 6 guests): $900
- Donaldson House: “We Three Kings” (up to 6 guests): $900
While you enjoy the company of family and friends, the family hosts will be there to share a variety of 19th century Christmas traditions with you. Christmas dinner in one of the historic homes is sure to make the holiday’s history come alive for you.
- 5:00 p.m.: Arrival at Kings Landing at the Interpretation Center. (Directions provided upon booking).
- 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: Costuming, hot cider and entertainment at the Interpretation Centre.
- 5:30: Wagon ride to the home to join your hosts and enjoy an evening filled with merriment.
- 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: When you have ended your time at the home, a wagon brings you back to the Interpretation Center to return to the present and head home.
Menu: Your holiday dinner will be served family-style, on the table, starting with Cream of Turkey Soup and brown bread. The main course will consist of Roast Beef, Turkey, Herbed Stuffing, Potatoes, Vegetables and all of the traditional trimmings. For dessert, enjoy a tasting of gingerbread and mincemeat pie with tea or coffee. Vegetarian options are available. Most other dietary restrictions can be met with advanced notice.
All prices include generous family-style meals, costume rentals, wagon transportation, taxes and gratuity. Prices do not include Eventbrite fees. Wine and beer are available for a fee in the “Add-ons” section.
Please Note: Admission to Christmas in the Valley is not included in the price of your ticket as it is a separate event.
Attire: For Christmas by the Hearth, you’re invited to dress the part! Those who are able to may book a costume fitting with the Kings Landing Wardrobe Department. Our seamstresses will select one of the Kings Landing costumes and alter it to your size. If you’re unable to attend a fitting in person, you can call and discuss your sizing needs with our wardrobe department. We’ll do our best to have an outfit ready for you – though fit cannot be guaranteed without a proper fitting! Costumes are not mandatory!
Transportation: Each party will be escorted to their selected home by horse and wagon from the Interpretation Centre, located in Kings Landing’s service area. More details provided upon booking.
Facilities: Each home has been inspected and licensed in accordance with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. All homes have heat and access to water. Guests at the Morehouse have access to a washroom (stair access only). Guests at the Perley, Ingraham and Donaldson will be brought to washrooms via wagon.
Inclement weather: If inclement weather is expected on the day of your reservation, please call us at (506) 363-4968. Our voicemail will be updated with a cancellation message by 12:00 pm. If we do not cancel the dining experience, but you feel unsafe travelling, please call us at (506) 363-4968 to cancel your reservation. Cancellation fees are not charged for inclement weather.
Cancellations: Kings Landing Corporation requires a 72-hour cancellation notice for all themed dinners. If you do not provide notice within this time frame, your card will incur a 100% fee.
