Sebastian Demrey & Jimmy Lahaie have a common vision : bring a fresh sound to Christmas hymns and carols by revisiting some of the most beautiful songs of the past centuries.
Wishing to keep an organic sound, the canadian duo focuses on acoustic guitars, mandolin, acoustic piano, string section, percussions and an upright bass. The project also features fellow canadian artist Genevieve Falleur and a renowned Montreal cellist, Carla Antoun who notably recorded with Celine Dion and Cirque du Soleil.
"With our music, we want to highlight the lyrical and musical treasures that have impacted our faith, our parent's and generations before us. Although our music music was more likely to be embraced by an older audience, we strive to reach the youth as well so that they can discover these wonderful hymns and how they are still relevant in the 21st century."
PROCEEDS OF THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT WILL BENEFIT WEST ISLAND MISSION
West Island Mission is a non-profit organization that provides well-balanced, high quality food assistance and other related aid to the less fortunate living in the West Island of Montreal.
