Through lectures and small group activities, the one day training will introduce participants to the fundamentals of QI. We will familiarize you with tools and terminology (e.g. Fishbone Diagram, Measurement Plan, PDSA worksheets) and methods based on the Model for Improvement (http://www.ihi.org/resources/Pages/HowtoImprove/default.aspx). Participants are encouraged to come prepared to work on a quality issue relevant to their home agency throughout group exercises to promote applicability of learnings following the session.

Target audience: Clinical, support and administrative staff/volunteers working in Ontario’s public colleges or universities, who are or would like to participate in QI projects and consider themselves novice or in need of a refresh.

Pre-work eLearning: All participants are required to complete four, online eLearning modules prior to attending the in-person training session. The modules take approximately 3 hours to complete. Information of how to access these modules will be sent to you following registration.
