When an octogenarian pharmaceutical tycoon decides to finance a great work of cinema, he
purchases the rights to a Nobel Prize–winning novel and entrusts the property to enigmatic
auteur Lola Cuevas (Penélope Cruz; Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Parallel Mothers). To complete
her vision, she casts a pair of veteran thespians who couldn’t be less alike: Iván Torres (Oscar
Martínez, The Distinguished Citizen), a legend of the stage with high ideals, and Félix Rivero
(Antonio Banderas; Pain and Glory, Once Upon A Time In Mexico), a glamorous global star
consumed by his own celebrity. Awash in egomania and deliciously absurd behind-the-scenes
hijinx, Argentine writer-directors Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat provide an ingenious, icy
satire of Hollywood.
