Join us for a film screening where we take a trip to the magical Isle of Skye through the lens of 3 archive films.
About this event
These three short films about the Isle of Skye contain vintage picture-postcard scenes of the famous Scottish island. The films were shot in the late 1950s and early 1960s and show a soft colour version of an ideal holiday destination. Sit back and let this trio of films from the Moving Image Archive take you on a time-travel virtual holiday to one of the most beautiful locations in Scotland.
On the showreel:
- Impressions of Skye
- Over the Sea to Skye
- A Weekend in Skye
There will be two chances to catch the films:
- A one-off screening on Wednesday 13 July from 6pm.
- Drop in from 12pm on Saturday 16 July when the films will be played on a loop.
Total running time: 40 minutes.
Admission is free, but please register your interest. All ages welcome.
The building and screening room are wheelchair accessible, but please get in touch with us if you have any enquiries or concerns about access requirements.
