Event description

Description

We are all intimately connected to the cities we live in. We have a favourite route to take home from work or school, a go-to spot for a quick bite, a park where we like to hang out, or a neighbour we can depend on.

Our cities have shaped who we are. What would our cities look like if we ALL had a part in shaping them?

Evergreen, London Community Foundation, Pillar Nonprofit Network, UnLondon, the Urban League of London, London Arts Council, the City of London and CBC London have all come together to host a conversation about city building.

You will hear stories from 6 Londoners about how the city has shaped them and how they have shaped their city. Speakers include Deb Armstrong from Nokee Kwe, Matt Thomas from City Proper, Melissa Kamphuis from the London Youth Advisory Panel, and others.

After hearing from our inspiring speakers, we will have a civic engagement fair. If you’ve ever been to a job fair, this will look pretty familiar to you – people will be strolling about, listening to music, and learning about how to get involved in London from community groups, advocacy groups, nonprofit organizations, and more. The purpose of the fair is to showcase and bring awareness to the great work happening in London and to share opportunities to get involved.

We hope you can join us!
