Note from the Organizers: Nov 19th @ 11am

Hello Crafters!

We are so excited that you have registered to join us for a City of Langford Free Wreath Workshop this winter!

We know that all eyes are on the COVID-19 situation right now and the potential of further restrictions across the province. We wanted to let you know that should these workshops need to change due to new restrictions, we’ve got you covered!

Here’s the plan!

IF restrictions in BC change we will:

1. Send you an email to let you know!

2. Package up all the necessary wreath supplies into individual “to-go” kits. (Yes, even the greenery!)

3. Meet you on your registered date and time at Veterans Memorial Park so you can pick up your Wreath Kits!

(Note: You can arrange to pick up for your whole registered group OR individuals in your group may pick up their own provided that we have their name on the registration. If you need to update your listed names, please send us an email!)

4. At the time of pick up, you will be provided the link to a private video tutorial that we’ve created. With this short video, you’ll be guided through the workshop with the exact same instructions as you would get in person.

5. Finally, we’ll share all the amazing creations on social media if you tag @cityoflangford and @thegoodparty so we can still spread the holiday cheer together!

If you have any questions, you can message us through eventbrite or check in with sara@thegoodparty.ca

We can’t wait to craft with you soon!

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

The City of Langford is hosting holiday activities leading up to Christmas and our wreath making "crafternoons" are part of the exciting line-up!

During these free and COVID friendly outdoor workshops, each participant will create a 12inch evergreen wreath complete with a festive bow!

Workshops include step-by-step beginner paced instruction and all supplies.

All sessions take place outdoors, rain or shine, at Veterans Memorial Park on Aldwynd Rd in Langford!

Registration for all sessions will go live at 6pm on Friday Nov 13th. Registration is done by group or "table". Please read below for details and instructions for sign up!

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIGN UP

1. Decide who you want to attend with ahead of time (minimum of 2 people, maximum of 6 per workshop table)

  • To safely accommodate all attendees, we need to know who is coming as a group! Groups will share a table for the workshop, and will be physically distanced from other groups.
  • Due to restrictions around COVID-19, tables can have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 people.

2. Decide on ONE person who will make your reservation and get your "tickets"!

  • Tickets correspond to how many people will be at your table. All tickets for your table must be registered for by the same person in the same transaction. This ensures the reservation is under one name, and you will be placed at a table together.
  • If you register separately, you will work separately.
  • This is the ONLY way for us to safely and effectively run this system.
  • Make sure you select the right number of tickets corresponding to how many people will be at your table (ie: a group of 4 should have 4 tickets etc). If not, we won't know how big of a table you need!
  • Please be sure the ONE person in charge of registering your group has each person's name and email address ready to enter at time of registration.

3. Have that ONE person log on at (or after!) 6pm on Friday Nov 13th, select your time slot and select the right number of tickets (up to 6) to confirm your table.

  • Again, tickets are for the individuals, NOT one ticket per table.
    • Make sure you select the right number of tickets corresponding to how many people will be sitting at your table (ie: a table of 4 should have 4 tickets etc)
  • You will have to enter in every individuals name and contact info for the tickets. This is for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes.

4. Your chosen group member who registered for the tickets will receive a confirmation email.

  • If your group becomes unable to attend, we ask that you please cancel your registrations so another group can have a chance to participate in this popular activity!
  • If you need to cancel your table, please cancel your order via eventbrite or email the event organizers.
  • If you just need to change how many people are coming in your group, please email the event organizers.

Please note: There is no waitlist for these workshops. If orders are cancelled, tickets will become available again immediately. Your best bet is to check back often!!

EVENT DETAILS

What is the cost?

Workshops are free! #thanksLangford !

Attendees are encouraged to consider making a donation to the Goldstream Food Bank at this link:

https://goldstreamfoodbank.org/?page_id=290

How long will the wreath making take?

Workshops are self-paced once we start adding the greenery, and you can expect it to take approximately 45-60 minutes.

What ages are the workshops suited for?

Anyone is welcome to attend; however, children under 10 will be asked to work alongside a parent or guardian who isn’t already busy creating their own wreath.

It’s Winter, won’t it be cold?

It might be so please DRESS WARM! These sessions will be happening outdoors regardless of weather or temperature. There will be tents to keep us dry but please bundle up - a toque, scarf and a winter jacket wouldn't be overdressed ;)

Should I bring anything?

If you have a pair of handheld floral / garden clippers, we would really appreciate if you brought those! If you don't, we will have some sanitized ones on site.

Where should I park?

There is a small lot by the West Shore Chamber of Commerce, right by the playground; however, we recommend simply grabbing some street parking on Aldwynd Road.

Is there a COVID Health and Safety Plan?

Yes! We've run activities like this throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and have outlined our COVID plan below.

Who do I contact with questions?

You can contact us directly through eventbrite, or email sara@thegoodparty.ca

COVID HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN

This event will have strict COVID-19 protocols in place and will be following the most current Provincial Health Order for Gatherings and Events on Vancouver Island.

  • As in all cases, people are reminded to stay home if they have COVID, have any symptoms, have been in contact with anyone with COVID, or have been told to self isolate.
  • Each patron will be required to provide their name and contact information for contract tracing. This information will be securely held for 30 days in case of the need for contact tracing.
  • Each workshop (noted as a separate event) is set for 30 patrons to allow for proper physical distancing. (Extra tickets may be released for select sections if space permits, up to a maximum of 48)
  • There will be an hour between each event to allow for full cleaning and sanitization with no patrons present.
  • Patrons must maintain a 2 meter distance from other patrons not in their party
  • There will be no more than six patrons at a table, even if they belong to the same party, and there will be at least two metres between the standing area of patrons at one table and the standing area of patrons at another table.
  • Patrons will be shown to their pre-assigned table.
  • Measures such as reservations and clearly marked lines with cones at least 2m apart will be present to prevent patrons from congregating on the premises.
  • Hand sanitization will be readily available for all patrons.
  • Washrooms will be available for patrons attending the event.
  • There will be ample space to allow patrons to keep a 2 meter distance from anyone not in their party.
