Advisory Group Kick-off Workshop

CFAS has wrapped up the first phase of work What matters and who is affected? and is now moving into the next phase work – What can we do? What’s acceptable? We are currently setting up a project Advisory Group made up of project partner representatives and stakeholders to help us with this next phase of work.

The Advisory Group will include representatives from all the organizations, governments, residents and other groups with an interest in Surrey’s coastal flood plain, including representatives from Semiahmoo First Nation, residents, farmers and agricultural group reps, environmental organizations, business groups, provincial agencies and organizations, and representative from neighbouring jurisdictions (White Rock, Delta).

The Advisory Group will meet two or three times over the next nine months to review and help evaluate coastal flood management options and to provide input into the final Coastal Flood Adaptation Strategy.

The first Advisory Group workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, July 25th from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Surrey City Hall. Coffee, snacks and a light lunch will be provided.
