Format: Instructor-led, online workshop, Zoom

Cost: $350.00 plus HST & fees

Non-member cost: $710.00 plus HST & fees

Includes: Course instruction, e-book courseware, and virtual machine rental for the 2021 version of Civil 3D are covered by the cost of this course.

Training Delivery Method: Instructor-led online class with an explanation of concepts, hands-on exercises, and question & answer sessions.

Course Duration: Two days, 9 am – 5 pm with morning and afternoon 15-minute breaks, and a one-hour lunch.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • A reliable internet connection with a minimum of 20+ MBPS downloads speed and 10+MBPS upload speed.
  • A computer with two monitors configured as an extended desktop, minimum 1920×1080 resolution on both screens.
  • Ability to use computer audio for communication with the instructor and other students.
  • Ability to use Zoom Meeting software (hosted by SolidCAD) without any firewall restrictions.

Course Overview

This is the first of two-course sessions. This session will provide a comprehensive introduction to the 2022 version of AutoCAD Civil 3D. The course will feature concise, straightforward explanations and real-world. hands-on exercises that provide instruction on the core features and functions of Civil 3D. Course participants will learn techniques for organizing survey data, creating and analyzing surfaces, creating parcel layouts, and performing grading tasks. Course participants will also be introduced to Data shortcuts for project management purposes.

SolidCAD Trainers Biographies

DAVID HILL holds designations in Civil Technology from the Ryerson Polytechnic Institute and in Computer Aided Drafting Technology from the George Brown Institute of Technology. His extensive experience with a wide variety of municipal engineering, land development, highway and airport projects span more than 25 years. He is skilled in preliminary and detailed design, project and consultant management, contract administration and construction management and supervision. In his current role, David provides consulting, implementation, training and support services. David is an Autodesk Certified Implementation Expert and trainer, specializing in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D to design complex transportation and land development projects (subdivision and commercial). David has been a presenter at Autodesk University and Autodesk User Group International and is a member of the Groundbreakers User Group.

PREM JOSEPH holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is an Autodesk Certified Trainer and Implementation Expert. He brings more than 20 years of combined experience focused on transportation, municipal engineering and land development. His background includes project consulting, design supervision, CAD co-ordination and Civil BIM Management. Prem provides introductory to expert-level consulting services, customization, training and support related to Autodesk Civil 3D, InfraWorks and Vault. He is the Founder and advocate of the Ontario Civil Infrastructure Users Group, (www.GBUG.ca), and is the main spokesperson at various speaking engagements. In addition, Prem has taught classes at both Autodesk University and Autodesk User Group International.

COLIN GAUDET is an Environmental Civil Engineering Technologist from Conestoga College. Since his graduation, he has gained valuable industry experience through his involvement with a variety of municipal engineering, land development, and environmental design projects. This coupled with his contract administration and site inspection experience has fostered a skillset for producing functional and easy-to-implement design solutions. In his work experience, Colin held a lead technical role where he developed skills in subdivision design, road reconstruction design, contract administration, landfill gas treatment facility design, asset management, and CAD standard management. He takes pride in understanding his clients’ needs in order to develop solutions uniquely tailored to them. Colin is a key member of the Infrastructure/GIS team, where he provides training, implementation, and support on Autodesk civil engineering products with a focus on AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vehicle Tracking, and Recap. He leverages his software experience and his past work experience to help clients achieve innovative solutions, streamlining project workflows, developing standards, and maximizing drafting and design efficiency.

We will provide a partial refund, minus Eventbrite fees, for all cancellation requests received in writing 48 hours prior to the webinar/course start date.

Should a refund be requested less than 48 hours before the start of the webinar/course, we will consider partial refunds and ticket transfers on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellation by Instructor:

Decisions on course cancellations will be made at least four (4) business days prior to the course start date, early registration is recommended. If you register for a course that is canceled by the instructor, you will receive a full refund.
