Overview

This course will focus on the effective use of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2024 version’s functionality that is specific to the methodologies and techniques for the successful design of grading plans for site plan and subdivision developments. Participants will learn a variety of grading tools as well as techniques for working with grading groups, criteria sets and feature lines. By exploring the various grading specific design tasks, participants will become comfortable with the workflow in Civil 3D that is required to create and display design surfaces and calculate volumes. With the completion of this course, participants will receive a thorough understanding of the processes and procedures available in Civil 3D to complete a variety of grading projects.

Training Delivery Method: Instructor-led online class with an explanation of concepts, hands-on exercises, and question & answer sessions.

Pre-requisites:

  • Proficiency with Civil 3D – This is not an introductory course to Civil 3D
  • Web-based Training: The training participants’ computers will have the ability to use Microsoft Teams or Zoom (hosted by SolidCAD) to participate in the hands-on session.
  • Internet performance of 20 mbps and 10 mbsp in the class.
  • Training participants will need a computer installed with a 2023 or newer (ideally 2025) Civil 3D license.
