CLIMATE CHANGE: CURRENT ISSUES FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING
Event Information
About this Event
Infrastructure is traditionally designed with the assumption that the climate is stationary. Given the broad scientific consensus that global climate change is now occurring on a time scale shorter than the life of most infrastructure, it is clear that our design criteria must be adapted to take climate change into account. This dinner & presentation will provide a picture of future climate projections across Canada and impacts of climate change on infrastructure.
Presenter: Jean-Luc joined the firm Lasalle | NHC in 2018 as a project engineer. He has a Ph.D. in hydrology and climate change from the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). He has published scientific papers and presented his research at international conferences. Jean-Luc serves on several boards and committees in addition to teaching fluid mechanics and water resources at ÉTS.
