Event description
Join us to hear how you can take steps to mitigate climate change on your farm!

About this Event

Farmers are disproportionately affected by changing climate but also have ample opportunities for action. Discussion, education, and engagement must include farmers and rural people to enable coordinated action on climate change.

Previous discussions on climate in Ontario and Canada have identified several key areas of engagement and action for agriculture, including:

- Carbon sequestration and long-term soil health

- Reduced GHG emissions from agriculture

- Green energy

- Organic diversion for waste reduction

- Farmland protection, including greenbelt and grasslands

- Tree planting, as well as hedgerow and shelterbelt protection

- Climate resilience

Join us for a Kitchen Table Meeting to discuss farmers' role in climate change and what kinds of climate actions you can take on your farm to make a difference. Farmers, non-farmers, food producers, and anyone interested in learning about this topic are welcome to join.

AGENDA

6:30pm: Potluck Dinner

7:00pm: Discussion begins

Everyone is welcome to attend, participation is free of charge.
