Climate Resilience Express Training Workshop
Tue, 23 February 2016, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM MST
Join us on February 23 at the Pomeroy Hotel in Olds, Alberta to learn how to use the Climate Resilience Express Action Kit—a toolkit to help Alberta communities plan for and manage the local impacts of climate change.
All One Sky Foundation, the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre, and the Town of Olds are hosting a one-day workshop to train municipal staff on use of the Climate Resilience Express Action Kit. Learn how to apply the Action Kit in your community to:
- build a business case to get started on climate resilience planning;
- interpret and use information about climate trends and future projections;
- perform a climate risk and opportunity assessment for your community; and
- develop an action plan for key risks and opportunities through a one-day workshop
Climate Resilience Express is a collaboration between All One Sky Foundation, the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre, Miistakis Institute, and Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute. The Action Kit is intended to be used by Alberta municipalities to create action plans to address future changes in climate. It was developed over the course of four workshops in pilot communities across Alberta: Bruderheim; Banff and Canmore, Black Diamond and Turner Valley; and Mackenzie County.
Climate Resilience Express has been developed with financial support from The Calgary Foundation, Natural Resources Canada, All One Sky Foundation, Municipal Climate Change Action Centre, and Alberta Ecotrust.
Inquiries about this event may be directed to Laura De Carolis.
Note: priority for attendance will be given to Alberta municipalities.
