Centre for Social Innovation's Climate Ventures Mornings is a chance to hear from the city’s top climate entrepreneurs and leaders. You’ll gain a greater understanding of the different ways in which we can tackle the climate crisis, and hear some inspiring personal stories along the way.

On Thursday February 20, we’re sitting down with Peter McArthur, lead of RBC's local cleantech commercial banking practices. Join us for a conversation on cleantech: its potential, trends, and funding landscape.

About the Speaker

Peter McArthur is a seasoned commercial and corporate banker and a keen supporter of the cleantech sector in Canada. He leads RBC's cleantech commercial banking practise in the GTA and works with a variety of cleantech companies, ranging from early stage commercializing businesses to small public companies. He has been with RBC's Knowledge Based Industry Team since 2013 and looks after a variety of ICT companies and Venture Capital Firms. A graduate of the University of Toronto and an Executive Program at Queens University, he holds a Certificate in Carbon Finance. Recognized as a 2019 Canadian cleantech leader by the Clean 50, Peter is the Chair of the Ontario Clean Technology Industry Association, and serves on the Board of the Canada Cleantech Alliance.

About the Moderator

Barnabe Geis is the Director of Programs at the Centre for Social Innovation, where he designs and runs programs that grow startups and organizations with a social and/or environmental purpose. Barnabe leads Climate Ventures – an incubator, coworking space, and a range of accelerators that support entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders working on climate solutions – and has raised millions in funding for climate action programs. He is an Ariane de Rothschild Fellow, and holds a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University.
