Event description

Description

Welcome to a new training series presented by Student Group Services and the Campus & Community Recreation Clubs Sports Program! Bringing additional training and professional development opportunities to student group leaders, the Clubs Leadership Series will give student group leaders additional opportunities to learn skills to help them better lead their clubs towards success.

In this session, the Alberta Public Interest Research Group presents "Beyond Diversity and Inclusion". In this interactive and collaborative session, participants will learn and deepen their understanding about the barriers people face at the university and wider community from an anti-oppressive lense. What are the structural barriers that face students and members of our communities? How do we work together to not only create better clubs, but to create a better world? This introductory session will act a conversation starter and get participants thinking critically about the world and their place in it, and leave them with strategies for developing welcoming environments for their clubs.

Sign up right away, as spots will fill fast!

Note that this training is not mandatory, but recommended for club leaders hoping to enhance their existing skills. For more information, please contact clubs@su.ualberta.ca.
