9pm - Concert @ 245 McDermot Ave., 4th floor
Installation (free admission)
Hear the transformative sound of melting ice in Portuguese artist Gil Delindro’s new installation created specially for Cluster 2014. Microphones are encased in huge slabs of ice, which melt onto an amplified heated metal pad. The result: a cacophonic constellation of cracking, dripping, and hissing. Deli Gleba’s multi-disciplinary installation constructing memory explores the act of rebuilding memory through the stasis of time.
Amplification by inversion: Canadian solo violinist Mira Benjamin plays an intimate recital of compelling experimental compositions that draw the listener’s ear closer to the violin than ever before, featuring new works by Martin Arnold, John Lely, Cassandra Miller, and Luke Nickel.
