"After thousands of years we're still strangers to darkness, fearful aliens in an enemy camp with our arms crossed over our chests" — Annie Dillard (1974)
Part walking tour, part sound and light installation, this site-specific performance attempts to address the forgotten experience of natural darkness. Cluster guest curator Leigh Anne Parry takes us outdoors and into the night to experience an immersive experience populated by some of Winnipeg’s most exciting artists. Dress warm!
A night once held thousands of stars visible to the human eye: so dark, on a clear night the milky way cast a shadow on the ground. Now that feeling of infinitude, of deep time, of insignificance has dissolved into a canopy of street lights, daylight bulbs and screen time...
