FAQs

My child's day school also offer this contest, who should I register with?

You HAVE TO register with your school.

I don't yet know whether my child's day school offers this contest or not. Can I register now and ask for a refund later if his/her day school does offer?

Unfortunately, the registration fee is non-refundable. However, you child MUST write this contest with his/her day school if his/her school does offer.

Can I sign my child up for contests that are above their current grade school grade level?

Yes. However, you cannot sign up for lower grade contests.

Are calculators permitted?

Contestants may use a calculator in the contest.

Where can I get more information about this contest?

http://www.mathleague.com/

How should my child prepare for this contest?

Sample contests and full solutions can be found at: http://www.themathleague.com/index.php/annualcontestinformation/samplecontests

Our suggestion to you is to first attempt the contest, giving yourself half an hour to complete it in a test writing situation (i.e no asking for help) and then mark the contest yourself. If you have done the question incorrectly, look through the solution to figure out where the mistake is. Should you have any uncertainties, you may ask your teacher before or after class, or by email. Take the opportunity to attempt as many sample contests as possible.

Who can I contact if I have any questions?

Please contact the Principal at your campus or email vaughan@spiritofmath.com if you have questions.
