Event description
The year long Town of Coaldale Centennial Celebrations continue with the Centennial Mosaic Community Art Project

About this Event

*There are also limited walk-in spots for each of the sessions! If one of the sessions you are interested in is full, you are more than welcome to drop in at that time.

The Gem of the West Arts and Culture Committee and the Town of Coaldale are partnering to host Centennial Fall Friday featuring the Coaldale Centennial Mosaic Community Art Project - a project that has been made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.

Community members, including residents in the surrounding rural area, are invited to paint a 4” x 4” tile that will become a part of an 8’ x 12’ Centennial Mosaic Mural depicting Coaldale’s history. Every 4”x4” painting will be a personnel expression of what Coaldale means to the artist, and every skill level is encouraged, from a toddler scribble to a professional artist’s masterpiece. Over 600 individually painted tiles when placed together will become one work of art that represents Coaldale and the best thing is that you will be a part of creating this amazing piece and become part of the story of Coaldale.

Painting sessions will be led by the very talented professional artists of Mosaic Canada Murals (canada150mosaic.com) and will be approximately 1 hour in length.

Everyone is welcome, no matter your level of ability. Book your spot, express what Coaldale means to you through your painting, and then become part of Coaldale’s history.
