Course Description:

The focus of Corrosion is on the deterioration of substances by chemical reaction within the environment. Corrosion results in product loss, production shutdown and overdesign of processes. Corrosion specialists apply their expertise to control corrosion. Indeed, one of the most common methods to control corrosion is coating application.

Coating is used in different industries such as oil and gas, automotive, concrete and flooring, wood, construction, appliances, marine and aerospace.

North York College offers coating course to arm students with required knowledge and skills in coating technology, coating types, coating quality control, manufacturing and inspection.


- Theory and Common practice

Course Content:


  • Importance of Coating and Corrosion Prevention

  • Coatings Types

  • Coatings Ingredients

  • Coatings manufacturing

  • Coatings Quality Control

  • Overview of Coatings Inspection and Coatings Defects


Course Duration: 36 hours (6 hours per week) - 6 weeks in Total
