Aidan Macfarland

Aidan Macfarland is a second-year medical student at the University of Toronto. He studied neurobiology at the University of New England for both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, where he did the majority of his surfing at Fortunes Rocks, in Maine. Recently, Aidan trained in Advanced Surf Life Support with Surfing Medicine International (SMI) in Peniche, Portugal, and hopes to one day work with the World Surf League and Big Wave Tour as a practicing physician. Aidan has advanced training as an Emergency Medical Technician and has researched cold water surf safety as well as psychological skills training for emergency trauma physicians. His favorite breaks include Canggu, Huntington Beach, Fortunes Rocks and The Cove in Toronto.

Antonio Lennert

Antonio Lennert is an avid cold-water surfer, ISA-certified surf instructor and founder of Surf the Greats. Born and raised by the Atlantic Ocean in Brazil, he has been surfing since an early age. He participated in a five day Surf Rescue course organized by the Costa Rican National Lifeguarding Association in addition to his surf instructor training with the International Surf Association. Antonio has been working as a community leader and educator on the Great Lakes and beyond for the past 4 years. His favourite breaks include Playa Hermosa, Blacks Beach, South Point and Mini Mavs in Toronto.

Lucas Murnaghan

Dr. Lucas Murnaghan is a Toronto-based photographer focusing on images that involve water and its surroundings. He has now traveled to four continents, shooting in major breaks around the globe. Surf brand sponsorships brought opportunities to shoot in-water photographic coverage for major international competitions, including the Rip Curl Pro Tofino and WSL Soup Bowl Pro. You may have seen him out on the lakes in some of the coldest days documenting our sessions. In addition to his photography work, Lucas works as an orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on sports injuries.
