Title: Theatre in the Apocalyptic age.
Host: 2b Theatre.
Moderator: Mark Foster
What will the apocalypse look like? Will we still have lights and the internet in the future? How will we remember the past? What will the world look like in ten years, a hundred years, a thousand? How will the sins of today affect the outcomes of tomorrow? What does theatre have to do with any of this?
Between our perceptions of the past, and how we move through the present, the theatre has the power to change. Can theatre change the future, though? On Friday, March 25th, 2b theatre will host a colloquium moderated by Mark Foster concerning “Speculative Theatre”- that is, the theatre that concerns the future of the society from which it is created. Discussion, interaction, debate, and creation will all be part of the event with the intent of creating theatre pieces concerning changing the future!
We are always excited to have a diverse set of voices at these colloquia, whether you are an art maker, an engaged audience member, or just interested in the topic we want to hear your voice.
What is the Colloquium?
2b theatre company shares an office space and an espresso machine with Live Art Dance and Secret Theatre. It was important to us that it become something more. The boardroom was given the name the Colloquium, and the idea of hosting regular meetings was started. The purpose of the Colloquium is to foster better conversations about art-making.
