About this Event

Comedy Collage: Using Real Life in Comedy – with Aaron Read

One class. Four hours.

Thursday, July 4th, 6:00-10:00

This class will seek to answer the question where do the choices we make onstage come from? Through exercises, general discussion, labelling, and scene work, improvisors will begin to acknowledge and work with content choices and their origins. Is that character based off my Aunt’s weird friend who collects the masks? When I play annoying characters am I referencing my co worker at work who I can’t stand? Why is the trope of the After School Special Bully something I play a lot? And why do I find it funny? Find out the answers to these questions (maybe, we’ll at least talk about them) and more!

Pre-requisite: to register for this elective, you must have completed at least Intro 1, or explain your equivalent experience by emailing directors@blindtigercomedy.ca.
