Headlined by Shirley Gnome
From the west coast of Canada comes this internationally acclaimed musician known for her explicit lyrics, hilarious insights, and gorgeous voice. This smutty songstress will sing you outrageously raunchy and obscenely honest songs that will have you in stitches. You may be thinking it - but Shirley sings it shamelessly with "the voice of an angel dry-humping a cloud." Provocative truths about sex and human nature go down smooth with her sugar-coated vocals and gorgeous guitar stylings. She has graced the stages of several burlesque festivals with her bawdy ditties, earning herself a place as a beloved member of the international burlesque community. It's award winning, cleverly-carnal cabaret comedy that is NOT for the faint of heart.
Hosted by Sam Tonning
Sam is a silly man. He has silly thoughts and says silly things. These things have been known to make people a) laugh and feel uncomfortable, b) laugh and feel scared, c) laugh only, or d) be upset. He loves long walks on the beach and Phil Collins, and for some reason his high school gym teacher and Whitesnake.
Take a wholesome faced bad boy and then add therapy, with a dash of philosophy, and you begin to have Mark Hughes. Quickly making a name for himself in the Vancouver comedy scene, Mark had opened for the likes of Jason Rouse and Doug Stanhope. His one-man show (Tragedy + Time Serviced = Comedy) finished its acclaimed first run at the Vancouver Fringe Festival, and the Comedy Shocker was Mark’s creation.
Watching Jane Stanton on stage is like having a late night conversation with you best friend, if your best friend is one of the funniest people you know. In her short time performing comedy Jane has toured across Canada, won Vancouver’s funniest new female comic 2006 and has been featured on CBC Radio 1, XFM and the Can West Comedy Festival.
Originally from Kelowna, Stuart Jones moved to Vancouver three years ago to pursue his dream; to eat all the pizza. Stuart has been referred to as a 'slacker Seinfeld' who attacks the mundane with a caustic wit.
Steev’s funny. Steev’s dirty. Steev is a newcomer to stand-up in Vancouver and has been impressing wherever he goes. This Gold Star comic is going places.
