Comedy with an Accent is a stand-up showcase that celebrates immigrant voices, global perspectives, and the hilarious stories that come from living between cultures. Featuring comedians from around the world performing in English with their authentic accents, this show highlights the humor, heart, and identity behind every punchline.

Created and headlined by award-nominated comedian Maria Rivadeneyra, the show has sold out multiple times and showcases diverse acts that prove accents aren’t a barrier—they’re the funnier way in.

About the Creator – Maria Rivadeneyra

Maria Rivadeneyra is a Mexican stand-up comedian and producer based in Vancouver, and the creator of Comedy with an Accent. She recently won Best Comedian at the Latin Awards Canada, and has performed at major festivals including Latin Comedy Fest in Toronto and Latina Comedy Festival in Chicago.

Maria has shared the stage with top international comedians such as Sofía Niño de Rivera, Led Varela, Richie ' Farril, Alexa Zuart, Rafi Bastos, El Cojo Feliz, Tio Robert and more.

Her work has been featured in The Globe and Mail, People en Español, NBC, and Telemundo, among others.
