Event description

Description

Welcome to BlackHawk Aeronautical Solutions Inc.'s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Ground School. The purpose of this program is designed to familiarize new operators how to safely set up and fly their Unmanned Aerial Vehicle as well as understand the SFOC process for those that are interested in operating their drone for commercial purposes.

Utilizing Transport Canada's TP-15263E UAV Knowledge Requirement, this training course will cover the following material:

- Setting up your UAV
- Understanding the components associated with your UAV
- Weather and its impact on UAV flight
- Preparations necessary to safely fly, maintain and store your craft when not in use
- Emergencies
- Legislation for UAV commercial operations
- SFOC Application Process
- Flight planning & Airspace Coordination
- UAV safety manual requirements for commercial operation
- UAV Principles of Flight

The afternoon of day 2 will be reserved for actual hands on flight experience of a UAV (weather permitting). At the conclusion of the session, students will be given a quiz to verify their understanding of the material (Pass Mark 60%). Students will also receive a UAV Certificate of Completion which can be used as part of your SFOC submission for proof of training.

If you have purchased your UAV, we encourage you to bring it with you so that we can discuss your craft components and introduce you to the basics necessary to fly safely.

In addition to the 2 day course, BlackHawk will work with a local ROC-A examiner to provide your air radio license. This fee has been included with your registration fee.

All registrants will be provided with some study material in advance of the course. Upon registration, please notify us and we will forward the study material via email.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. As the location of the facility is well away from any restaurants or stores, all participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
