Event description

Description

The 2-day workshop will focus on:

  • Latest CAOM developments
  • Review of the current model
  • Collaborating in the CAOM open source project
  • Evolving the data model
    • Support for new use cases
    • Support for non-FITS data packaging
      (e.g. HDF5, JPEG2000, Measurement Set)
    • Keeping ahead of IVOA data models as they change

A one-day hackathon will take place on the third day. Attendees that wish to try ingesting data are invited to stay on for an extra day. Storage will be made available to allow staging of test datasets. A query portal and functional VO services will be deployed for complete end-to-end use of CAOM.

Attendance is by invitation-only. The primary audience is data engineers – knowing the discovery use cases, understanding the structure of the data and able to extract meta-data and map it to CAOM constructs. Those wishing to stay for the hackathon should have example datasets/files available to upload and use with the CAOM tools.

The preliminary program can be found here.
