Communitech Academy: UX Fundamentals - Fall 2021

About this event
In this four-session interactive program, you will be immersed in the activities of a UX designer through engaging discussions and exercises that simulate real-life scenarios. You’ll:
- Develop a working knowledge of UX principles and how to apply them, through discussion of theory, definitions and processes.
- Learn to solve real world design problems, through hands-on experience with tools and techniques including: user research, foundational design, prototyping and testing.
- Understand how to impact the user experience throughout the product life cycle, using practical tips and tricks.
UX Fundamentals is for you if you*:
- Are in a UX role and are looking to build upon your knowledge to grow your career.
- Work closely with a UX team and want to collaborate more effectively.
- Take on UX tasks, and are considering a transition into a more formal UX role.
- Are curious and passionate to learn how to positively impact the user experience in your current role.

You’ll leave equipped to speak a common language with UX professionals and to apply fundamental UX concepts in your current role.
Program Details:
Each of the four sessions that make up this program take place on the following days:
- Monday, October 18, 2021
- Wednesday, October 20, 2021
- Monday, October 25, 2021
- Wednesday, October 27, 2021
All sessions will be held virtually via Zoom* from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. ET.
*You’ll receive calendar invites for each session from academy@communitech.ca once your registration has been reviewed, which will include Zoom meeting details.
How big is the program? Maximum of 15 participants and filled on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of three participants per company.
Registration* fees:
- Communitech member: employees of startup and mid-size companies: $525
- Communitech member: employees of enterprise and associate companies: $660
- Non-members: $785
Please register with your business email address as this is used to validate Communitech membership.
*Note: To encourage diversity of thought, we cap participant enrolment at a maximum of three employees per company. If you would like more people from your organization to benefit from this program, let us know and we can talk about a potential team session.
