December 5 ProD Workshops
The Community Aboriginal Centre is hosting a variety of workshops for Abbotsford School District staff.
There are 4 workshops to choose from (please note the location):
Slahal (Held at Aboriginal Centre Gym) 10:30 to 11:30am
Learn the basic skills for playing the traditional game Slahal. Slahal is a guessing game that dates back many, many generations and is played in Nations across North America. Slahal was played for fun, sometimes it was played to settle an argument, and sometimes it was played to prevent a conflict between two Nations.

Literacy Activities and Strategies - this session is intended for Support Staff (Held at Aboriginal Centre Meeting Room) 12:30 to 1:30pm
This is a great opportunity to learn valuable literacy activites and strategies to help Support Staff that are working with Aboriginal Students. It's a beneficial workshop to those looking to build on their current strategies and learn new ones.

BC Blanket (Held at Chief Dan George Gym) 10:30 to 12:00pm
Through this experiential and visual exercise participants will explore the nation-to-nation relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada, how this relationship has been damaged over the years, and how we can work toward reconciliation.
Aboriginal Games in a PE Environment (Held at Clearbrook Elementary Gym) 9 to 11:30am
