Metro Vancouver Gathering - Vancouver

About this Event

As a member of the community-based seniors’ service sector in the Lower Mainland, you are invited to attend a Metro Vancouver Gathering on Tuesday, February 26th in Vancouver.

The Gathering include an orientation to CORE (Collaborative Online Resources and Education), a major and soon-to-be-launched initiative of United Way of the Lower Mainland’s Healthy Aging team. In addition, a presentation on seniors’ housing insecurity in the region. On the 26th, BC’s Seniors Advocate, Isobel McKenzie, will also speak.

The afternoon will feature a special photo/story exhibit by Dr. Sharon Koehn (SFU Gerontology) called The Lived Experiences of Aging Immigrants and a facilitated discussion of the issues raised. Similar meetings are being held across the province.

If you have any questions, please contact Barbara McMillan, Community Engagement Coordinator (barbaram@uwlm.ca) or Dr. Beverley Pitman, Regional Planner, with the United Way of the Lower Mainland’s Healthy Aging team (beverleyp@uwlm.ca).

We look forward to seeing you at either the Richmond or Vancouver meeting as we continue to build a united CBSS sector across BC.
