Time: Doors at 6:30pm; Presentation 7:00pm - 8:30pm including time for questions.

Where: Ralph Fisher Auditorium at Richmond General Hospital (7000 Westminster Hwy)
Free parking on the gravel lot accessed via Westminster Hwy.

Who is welcome: All curious people willing to learn and/or who deal with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or emotional turmoil. This event is open to individuals, families, and professionals regardless of their personal or professional backgrounds.

Childcare: Free child minding can be made available. The earlier the requests are made the more likely they are to be fulfilled as we require time to arrange for the appropriate staffing. You are also welcome to contact closer to date to check if we have additional spots available, but those of course cannot be guaranteed. To make the request please email us at info@supportingfamilies.ca and please let us know how many children will be accompaning you and their age. Please make child minding requests by September 20th. We will do our best to accomodate requests made after this date, but we cannot guarantee it.

Speaker: Fiona Jeyachandran, M.A., C.C.C.
Fiona loves to share her wisdom and experiences to help people grow, heal and just plain feel better! She has supported individuals and families in developing healthy relationships with themselves, each other, and their work place for over 30 years as a front line worker, a therapist, a trainer, and a consultant. She values compassion, joy, and safety for all, celebrating diversity, justice, equality, laughter, connection and creativity. Fiona’s passion is to work with people from all walks of life to support their well-being. She is on her own healing journey and believes in practicing what she teaches.

Host of the event: Supporting Families Affected by Mental Illness and Addiction is an inter-agency partnership that has come together to make Richmond communities stronger. One of the things Supporting Families (for short) does is that it hosts these Community Education events like this one, as well as fun and education groups for children of various ages and their parents.
