Event description

Description

Join our Habitat Youth Team for Tobique First Nation, to learn about 'the Indigenous rights history we're rarely taught.." Remember to RSVP/Get tickets (Free)!

In preparation for our 2018 Habitat Youth Build in Tobique First Nation, our team of New Tecumseth youth/young adults welcome ALL friends, supporters and members of the community... Come meet the team, learn about the project, share in a traditional meal of soup and bannock, and participate in a Kairos Blanket Exercise (KBE). Please BYOB - Bring your own blanket.

The KBE is an interactive activity which uses blankets to represent the lands of what is now called Canada, and the distinct cultures and nations which live on those lands to this day. Participants are invited to step into the roles of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in this learning experience facilitated by Indigenous leaders from KAIROS Guelph.
