Description

Community Sector Summit

Accelerating Growth

The community sector is at the heart of our communities, connecting people, providing important supports and services, supporting culture and tourism, creating jobs and building the economy. Nonprofit groups and their leaders, staff and volunteers, are on the ground building networks, linking communities, innovating, working together and accelerating social and economic progress.

More than ever it is important for us to collaborate in guiding our future. Building regional and provincial networks, working collectively with public and private sector colleagues, advocating for important policies and learning skills for sound governance and good management will be on the agenda for the Community Sector Summit.

Celebrating and Joining our Sectors: Working Together to Accelerate Growth

A central feature of the Summit will be The Way Forward with Community – A Sector Work Plan to Advance the Social and Economic Contribution of Community Organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador released last spring. On Monday morning October 28 we are delighted that Premier Dwight Ball will be front and centre at the Summit to discuss the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s commitment to the community sector and to collaborate on how we best action the plan to support nonprofit groups. Download a copy!

Please join us for a conversation with the Premier about the economic and social contributions of the community sector and how the Community Sector Work Plan will strengthen and accelerate growth in our sector. Working together, we are striving to strengthen networks and sector-to-sector collaboration. This will be a joint session with community sector and government colleagues, which will continue the dialogue and partnership that began with consultations last fall.

You won’t want to miss this ground-breaking event. There will be a jam-packed agenda of conversations putting the spotlight on the incredible work of community organizations throughout the province and lots of good learning workshops. Keep watching for updates and opportunities to participate.
