Compassion Fatigue and Fostering Healthy Relationships
Event Information
About this event
The following virtual workshop will be facilitated by a certified counselor. The session will touch on compassion fatigue among caregivers, healthcare workers, and family members, and also discuss how to create a more healthy relationship with self and others. Compassion fatigue is defined as a condition characterized by emotional and physical exhaustion leading to a diminished ability to empathize or feel compassion for others, often described as the negative cost of caring. It is sometimes referred to as secondary traumatic stress (STS). Likewise, healthy relationships discusses how partners can create a more healthier foundation in a relationship through trust, respect, and proper communication. Activities, role play, and storytelling will be available for engagement.
