Event description

Description

This special session is designed specifically for EARN and HIO members, presented by Compassionate Ottawa in cooperation with United Way Ottawa.

Compassionate Ottawa's goal is to facilitate a new social model in our community for the care of our loved ones. By encouraging conversation and preparation, especially within the workplace, the organization hopes to support those responsible for the care of elderly or seriously ill loved ones, so they can maintain a good quality of life.

The morning will include an introduction to an outstanding LHIN-sponsored program called Advance Care Planning (ACP). The ACP process helps ensure that plans are in place for end-of-life care based on our values or desires, as well as what the Province suggests we have in place. Using creative examples, we’ll talk about how to have the difficult conversations for our own end-of-life care or for others with whom we are close.

We will also look at how you as an employer can encourage ACP as an important step for your employees and their families. Recognizing and supporting the challenges employees face in life enhances organizational wellness and strengthens employee engagement.

The session will be led by Compassionate Ottawa co-founder, Jacquelin Holzman, along with her colleagues Monica Patten, Jack McCarthy and Barb Hogberg.

Please RSVP by April 27, 2018.
