Nova Vita works to end interpersonal violence and abuse by supporting individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence, intimate partner violence, or gender-based violence through the provision of crisis intervention, emergency shelter, transitional support, children’s programs, and counselling; and by fostering accountability for those who harm through intervention, counselling, public education, and systemic advocacy. Our vision is a world where individuals, relationships, families, and communities are safe, empowered, and healthy. www.novavita.org
The Tri-City Transitions Society was founded in 1975, and is a public charity that provides safe shelter and social support necessary for families, women, men, children and youth fleeing violence and abuse; a safe place to rest, rejuvenate and rebuild. Tri-City Transitions works in collaboration with Tri-City Mental Health a regional department of Fraser Health Authority, Coquitlam RCMP, Port Moody Police Department, School District 43, Port Coquitlam Court House, Corrections, Probations and Family Justice. Our founding rests on the primary proposition that in order for battered women to be economically self-sufficient, they require early intensive psycho-social interventions. Thank you Diane Rolston of Group & Dynamic Women for helping us Break the Cycle of Abuse. www.tricitytransitions.com
