CONNECT LEADER TRAINING is an attachment based parenting program for children and teens ages 8-18 that is structured, manualised and can be delivered by a wide range of professionals. This evidence based program has been implemented across Canada and Sweden and it has received positive feedback from parents and administrators alike. The success of the program has prompted specific adaptations to support foster parents and to apply the Connect principles in classrooms. Join us for one day to learn more about Connect or attend all three days to acquire the basic training required for certification in Connect for Foster Families or Connect for the Classroom.
DAY ONE ONLY
This one-day pre-requisite involves an overview of the Connect model and an introduction to attachment and adolescents.
DAYS TWO AND THREE
Continuing with Days two and three will prepare you to certify as a Connect Group Leader. Intensive training and practice within the nine Principles is offered. Supervision of your first group is required at an additional cost. Consider attending with a partner, as two trainers are required to facilitate the group.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Teachers, and anyone providing parenting education and/or counseling to caregivers of pre-teens and teens.
