Connectedness Coaching - Empowering Resilient Communities (North Perth)
Event Information
About this event
Connectedness Coaching is a foundational training component for the Lonely No More Program, a peer support program that consists of teleconference calls between older adults and trained community members (volunteers).
We are helping to build resiliency in our community through offering a series of free educational opportunities (e-learning course + webinar). These educational opportunities are aimed at community members who are interested in learning more about peer support, coaching conversations and system navigation. We are also inviting local agencies to participate and attend these events to complement their invaluable work in our community.
The broad scope of Connectedness Coaching would complement the invaluable work local community members do. Does this sound like you?
Connected Coaches are individuals who care about and relate to others who are in a similar place in life or who share a common story. They can help normalize some of the challenges other community members face during these uncertain times - fears, hopes, and worries.
Connected Coaches don’t just sit in a group and talk about troubles; they actively listen to learn about someone’s dreams and desires for the future. They explore what might be holding a person back and invite them to see possibilities. They inspire those they coach to take action. They realize that each person is responsible for their own path but offer the accountability and support needed to move forward with purpose. Connectedness Coaches make a meaningful difference in their communities.
E-Learning Course
We have created a Connectedness Coaching e-learning course that contains 6 modules (approximately 1 hour each), a Connectedness Coaching Toolbox and supplemental resources to empower resilient community communities.
Connectedness Coaching Webinar
Our Connectedness Coaching Webinars are a great space to address knowledge gaps our e-learners have as it relates to the content covered and provide an opportunity to engage with fellow learners.
Notes
If you plan on attending a webinar to supplement your e-learning, we suggest webinar attendees complete their e-learning course prior to the webinar to gain the most out of this educational opportunity. If time or technology hinders you from completing the e-learning course or if you want to attend just the webinar portion of this educational opportunity that's ok too. Feel free to sign up for the option that works best for you.
For those those that sign up for the webinar only you will also be provided access to the e-learning course as it can be a great resource to further explore the topics discussed at the webinar.
All individuals enrolled in the e-learning course will be provided free access to the content for 3 months.
