Event description

Description

Join us for a presentation by Dr. Kevin Jones of the City Region Studies Centre (Faculty of Extension) and update on a project looking at the potential for applying Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) principles in Edmonton.

The Historic Urban Landscape approach connects the preservation of heritage resources with the diversity of experiences, narratives and cultural traditions tied to a place or community. The aim of HUL is to balance the relationship between cultural, natural, social, and economic landscapes that support the character and healthy development of communities and neighbourhoods.

City-Region Studies Centre (Faculty of Extension) and the Edmonton Heritage Council partnered with MITACS, Edmonton Historical Board and Alberta Culture in this continuing work. The presentation will be an update on the initial project and looking ahead to future activity.
