Conscious Movement Practice with live music at Ride the Rhythm

By Hassti Hamidi

Overview

RtR is a regular conscious movement practice in Vancouver, a safe space to dive deep and connect with your body, mind, soul and spirit!

As the wheel of the year turns, we gather to honour the spark of light that begins to return, both within and around us.

This month’s Ride the Rhythm features a special collaboration with sound healer, percussionist and multi instrumentalist Eric Bowers, blending live drumming and sound healing with a guided musical journey by Hassti Hamidi. Together, we’ll move through rhythms that awaken warmth, renewal, and the gentle rising of light.

Come as you are. Let your body speak, your spirit move, and your dance become a catalyst for the returning light.

What is Conscious Movement Practice/ Ecstatic Dance?

Conscious Movement Practice is a unique style of dance that is all about free expression and letting your body move to the beat of your own drum. Unlike traditional dance classes, there’s no choreography to follow or steps to learn. Instead, it’s all about letting go and allowing the music to guide you, enabling authentic movement exploration. Conscious Movement Practice has been demonstrated to help with stress and anxiety reduction, promoting alignment of mind, body, soul, and spirit. During a Conscious Movement Practice session, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for movement and self-exploration. Everyone, regardless of their dance experience, is welcome to participate and enjoy the fun.
