Event description
For girls+ ages 12 - 15 who live in Atlantic Canada, this workshop will focus on data science and communications in wildlife conservation!

About this event

This workshop will focus on data science and communication in wildlife conservation, or how we study wildlife and how we share that research. We’ll do some coding in the programming language R to explore and analyze real wildlife data, including calculating different measures and making graphs and figures. We’ll learn about real applications of data science and communication in wildlife conservation, like dashboards and apps, and discuss a variety of careers in wildlife conservation. This workshop will be led by our Terranaut Club President and resident coding expert Danielle Quinn.

No prior knowledge needed! 10 seats. 3 hours including a 15 minute break.

This workshop is also being offered on Saturday, December 11th, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. See our organization's Eventbrite page for the event listing.
