Event description

Description

The Sonoff Basic from ITEAD is an Internet of Things enabled relay device that can be used to safely control power to any two-prong 110V device. Control lamps, fans, and other small appliances using your home WiFi network. In this workshop you will learn how to wire the Sonoff Basic into an ordinary extension cord; reflash the stock firmware to use the powerful open source alternative called Tasmota; and control a lamp from your phone or via MQTT.

You will be provided with your own Sonoff Basic, the reflashing hardware, and an extension cord. You will need to provide your own laptop with the Arduino IDE already installed. You should also have basic soldering skills, and understand how to use the Arduino IDE to flash a microcontroller.
