Event description

Description

Municipalities across Canada are successfully adopting LED streetlighting technology, demonstrating that it is a lucrative investment and that challenges to the conversion process can be overcome.

On April 25, join the Canadian Urban Institute to learn more about overcoming barriers to LED conversion at a free workshop in Delta, BC. We will explore financing options and solutions that have helped Canadian municipalities successfully implement this cost saving and carbon reducing technology. Speakers will include LED industry leaders and knowledge experts as well as municipal representatives who will share their experiences working through current constraints to LED conversion in BC.

The workshop will also feature a case study of the City of Burnaby, the first municipality in BC to begin complete conversion of 11,000 city-owned streetlights to LED. We will be joined by Doug Louie, the City’s Asst. Director Engineering for Transportations Services, who will discuss lessons learned and provide insight on working with a tight municipal budget to overcome major challenges and achieve key successes.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain firsthand information from this BC success story and industry knowledge that can help you build the business case for LED streetlighting in your community. Space is limited – register today to reserve your seat.
