During this workshop you will learn about effective strategies for conducting consumer research for the retail environment. Various qualitative and quantitative methodologies will be explored with specific focus on those that provide the greatest level of insight and statistically significant data. You will learn how this insight affects the path-to-purchase as well as consumer consideration. Most importantly, you will learn how to apply this insight to make informed choices during this essential step in the development of your product.
Meet your trainer: Brian Hircock
With over 20 years experience working with some of the industry’s prominent Retailers, CPG Manufacturers and Service Providers, Brian is considered to be amongst the most influential creative thinkers of his generation. Having spent his formative years as a designer, Brian’s understanding of thoughtful brand strategies and consumer insight drive his leadership at Raining Creative. Following a degree in fine art, Brian studied design & illustration at Sheridan College, after graduating, Brian turned his interests to physical spaces and studied interior design at Ryerson University.
Prior to joining Raining Creative, Brian focused on consumer research as it relates to the retail environment and in particular shopping behavior. Brian worked to implement an online research methodology into the creative process, providing brand owners with valuable insight and a unique approach to creative and strategic development.
A highlight of Brian’s career was the time spent working alongside Don Watt as a store designer, packaging designer and illustrator. As the relationship grew, Don’s influence had an indelible impact on Brian’s career and set the stage for a shift into management and strategic leadership.
Brian sits on the Ontario Leadership Counsel for the Packaging Association of Canada. He is also a featured speaker and event chair for gatherings focused on design, consumer research and brand strategy.
