Event Information
Description
Join Food Starter and our Food Commercialization Program participants in this Food Science Tools for Competitive Analysis Quality + Sensory Analysis Toolkit workshops with George Brown College's Winnie Chiu
Knowing your own product, production and supply chain is important, but food entrepreneurs and sales people need more information to succeed in today’s highly competitive food business.
This workshop teaches food entrepreneurs how to unearth insights about what makes competitive products better and different from one another even when they are labelled with the same name or stand next to one another on shelf.
Learn how to uncover how your competitors make their product and what differences there are between you on an operational level by doing reverse engineering and ‘wash downs’ to gather key insights. Study Nutrition Facts Panels and Ingredient Decks to find the true points of difference between products and then learn how to use sensory tools and simple tests to prove your insights and test your products in the marketplace.
These skills will help food entrepreneurs to get on shelf and to become more competitive.
