ABOUT COSA CANADA: "Performing the Extraordinary!"

We founded The Centre for Opera Studies & Appreciation in 2006 and incorporated in 2009 to create essential experiences and training for Canada’s young and emerging opera artists. We grew enthusiastic audiences each step of the way, event after event, and excitement after excitement. Through our many performances and formats – online performances, house concerts, operas in concert, opera pops, stage premieres of new productions, church and school concerts, doorstep serenades, public masterclasses, and restaurant "Opera Night" events - we are making all the difference in lifting the lives of our audience members, artists, and hosts.

AUDITIONS, CASTING: Stuart Barker (British Youth Opera), Leslie Dala (Vancouver Opera), Nathalie Doucet (Conservatorium van Amsterdam), Christina Haldane (Dalhousie University), Shannon Hiebert (University of Alberta), Marion Newman (Amplified Opera and Association for Opera in Canada), Patrick Raftery (University of British Columbia), Lisa Roy (Université de Moncton), Vicki St. Pierre (Mount Allison University), Howard Watkins (Metropolitan Opera).
